It has become necessary for me, again, to explain to owners the procedure to call for outside contractors to undertake work in private dwellings and expect the community to pay for the work that is carried out. This will not happen.

If an owner believes the problem is a community problem they should contact the president or a committee member who will ascertain if it is a community problem or a private problem. If the problem is private then it is the owners responsibility to use their private insurance and have the problem solved in the normal way. Please ask your key holders not to contact the administrators for private problems. If you need advice, by all means ask a committee member to help if you wish.

On the same note, a certain agency is constantly asking our administrators if their clients are in debt to the community so as to obtain a pool key for their clients holidaymakers to use the community pool. Owners should know if they are in debt and should therefore inform their agency accordingly whether they are entitled to a swimming pool fob or not. Information on debtors, obviously falls under the 'Data Protection' category and the administrator will not be drawn into that potential mine field. The president is aware of who is in debt and who is not in debt and will respond to owners when queried. For obvious security reasons the President must be informed by owners to release keys and not an agency.
